Health and Wellness
The health and wellness of our employees is paramount at Safeway. In partnership with the Live Healthy America program, we piloted the Live Healthy Safeway 100 Day Wellness Challenge with great success.
Healthy Measures
Now in its second year, Healthy Measures, a voluntary program designed to help employees identify and understand their major health risks, was enhanced to provide participants with a greater level of personal support and heightened knowledge of their individual health status by adding glucose testing to the blood pressure, body mass index and nicotine screening already available in the program.
CareConnect
The CareConnect service was established in 2008 to provide Safeway employees and their immediate families with access to the very best care for breast and prostate cancer.
National Healthcare
We continue to be active in the formation of public policy. Safeway CEO Steve Burd has taken his healthcare message to the U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives and directly to President Barack Obama.
FoodFlex
Safeway created FoodFlex®, a free online nutritional tool, with a focus on improving the lives of our customers.
