Directions Easy German Chocolate Cake: Prep: 20 min. Bake: 19-22 min. 1 Package Pillsbury Moist Supreme German Chocolate Flavored Premium Cake Mix Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per package instructions 1 tablespoon butter 1 cup pecan pieces 2 Containers Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Coconut Pecan Frosting. Prepare cake batter according to package baking instructions. Divide batter into 3 prepared (8-inch) round cake pans. Bake and cool according to baking instructions, but reduce baking time to (19 to 22 minutes). Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add pecan pieces. Cook and stir (2 to 3 minutes) or until lightly toasted. Remove from skillet. Let cool. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate, rounded side down. Top with about 1 cup frosting. Repeat cake and frosting layers two more times. Arrange cooled pecans on frosting on top of cake. Makes 22-24 servings. All you need: 1 cup water, 1/2 cup oil, 3 eggs (If desired, substitute 4 egg whites or 1/2 cup egg substitute for the eggs). Substitutions: Eggs: use 1/4 cup of Greek yougart or oil: use 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce. Baking Instructions: (1) Set oven to 350 degree F. Coat bottom of pan with no stick cooking spray or shortening and a flour dusting. For bundt cake, coat entire pan. For cupcakes, use paper baking cups. (2) Beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs in bowl with mixer on medium speed for (2 minutes). Pour batter into pan(s). (3) Bake at 350 degree F. Follow the bake times below. When toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, cake is done. Cool (10 to 15 minutes) before removing from pan. Cool cake completely before frosting. Store loosely covered. Pan Size: 13 x 9-inch, two 8-inch rounds, two 9-inch rounds, Bundt pan, 24 cupcakes (1/2 full). Bake Time: 34 to 38 min, 34 to 38 min, 29 to 33 min, 39 to 43 min, 19 to 23 min.
