Whole Grain Brown Rice.
Directions Cooking Instructions: On the stove top: 1. Place 1 cup of rice in a saucepan. 2. Add 1-3/4 cups of water, bring to a boil and stir. 3. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 50 minutes or until moisture is absorbed. 4. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. 5. Fluff with fork and serve. In the rice cooker: 1. Place 2 cups of rice into rice cooker. 2. Add water to 3 cup line on the rice cooker (brown rice measurements may vary by rice cooker). 3. Stir rice, close lid and start cooker. 4. When cooking ends, let stand covered for 5 minutes. 5. Fluff with fork and serve. Substitute chicken broth for water to enhance the flavor of brown rice. Serving Guide: 1/2 cup (uncooked) = serves 1. 1 cup (uncooked) = serves 2. 2 cups (uncooked) = serves 4. 1 cup uncooked rice makes approximately 3 cups cooked rice. Store in a cool dry place out of sunlight. Cooking time 40 minutes (firm) 50 minutes (soft).
