What you need for smooth and creamy mashed potatoes: 1 1/2 cups water; 1/2 cup milk; 2 Tbsp. butter. For less fat: Omit milk and butter. Prepare potatoes using 2 cups water. Stovetop Directions: 1. Bring water, milk and butter to boil in medium saucepan on medium-high heat. 2. Remove from heat. Add potatoes; stir immediately until blended completely. Cover. Let stand 3 minutes. 3. Stir and serve. Microwave Directions: 1. Microwave water, milk and butter in microwavable dish on high 3 minutes or until mixture comes to boil. 2. Remove from microwave. Caution: Dish and contents will be hot! 3. Add potatoes; stir immediately until blended completely. Cover. Let stand 3 minutes. 4. Stir and serve. Note: Microwave ovens vary; cook time is approximate. For less fat: Omit milk and butter. Prepare potatoes as directed using 2 cups water.
