Farm Raised Shrimp, Salt and Sodium Tripolyphosphate to Retain Freshness.
Directions Keep frozen. Thaw before serving. To Thaw Shrimp: For best results place desired amount of shrimp in a covered bowl of cold water. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for approximately 8 hours or over night. Rinse shrimp in a colander under cold running water and use as desired. Place unused portion in a covered bowl of ice water and refrigerate. For quick thawing place desired amount of shrimp in a colander and place under cold running water for approximately 5-10 minutes. Let drain for another 2-3 minutes. Use shrimp immediately or refrigerate in a covered bowl of ice water until ready to use. Serving Suggestions: Simple Shrimp Appetizer: Thaw and drain cooked shrimp, remove tail, cut in half lengthwise. In a large bowl combine 1 pt salad dressing, juice of 2 lemons and a large Bermuda onion, thinly sliced. Add shrimp, cover and refrigerate overnight to blend flavors. Serve on crackers or cocktail rye slices. If thawed store in refrigerator. Eat within 3 days.
